Learn about the Local Artists and Vendors we Love
At Braided Earth, we love supporting local creatives. Our shop includes one-of-a-kind pieces, cards, or prints from some serious talent. Here at Braided Earth, we offer space for artists to hang their pieces for free so they don't have to pay fees, like in galleries. They also get 100% of sales if a customer pays in cash, PayPal, or Venmo! Shipping is currently unavailable for any of our pieces, but a pick-up is only a small jaunt away here in the scenic drive out to Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
Meet The Artists

Mara Ackerman
Artist: Exploring Wellness through Creativity
Hello! My name is Mara Ackerman. I am a watercolor painter, enjoying the therapeutic process of creating art that can be shared. Inspired by nature, local artists, and beautifully illustrated children's books while reading to my three young children. This art endeavor motivates me to learn more, is full of beautiful surprises, and brings more JOY into our life! Fun Fact: I try my best to be mindful of the products and environmental impact my small business has. From envelopes made of 80-100% recycled materials, to having eco-clear protector bags that promote themselves as compostable bioplastic derived from plant sugars. Maggie Wacker
Artist and Author of Reimagining Grief
Hello, I'm Maggie. I am a physical and digital artist as well as an author. My paintings and digital pieces focus on relationships and the basic human emotions. I seek to understand how the viewer can see inside themselves to an area of exploration and discovery. I seek to expose our innermost feelings and joy. "Re-imagining Grief" is my first manuscript written after a tragedy rocked my world in 2017. In an effort to support others and delve seeping into triggers and perspectives surrounding loss, I wrote this book. I seek to find meaning and growth through pain and hardships. I have made it my missing in life to identify with the human emotion; albeit bad, good, or indifferent. Accepting: Venmo, Cash, Credit Card

William "Max" Titkos
Artist and Organic Grower
Nature is full of incredible and miraculous forms that inspire me. Throughout the years of exploring alcohol inks as a medium, I have strived to seamlessly blend the countless forms I love to observe in nature. During the warm months of the year, I work as a small-scale organic farmer. In doing this work, I have the pleasure of directly observing a diverse variety of plants as they develop throughout the season. In addition, I take great joy in leisurely visiting the local state forests, lakes, and rivers of Minnesota. From witnessing the grandest features of a landscape to the smallest details on a stone or piece of moss, I find myself reveling in wonder. The powerful elements of nature and all of its creatures are an endless wellspring of beauty to fuel my imagination. My artwork is propelled by a commanding desire to express love and appreciation for this beauty in a personal way. Whatever I manage to create is simply a small reflection of the creative majesty of the Great Mystery. Accepting: Venmo, PayPal, Cash

Sarah Lentz
Artist and Physician-in-training
My name is Sarah. I grew up in Stillwater, MN and am excited to be sharing some of my work with you! I am a watercolor artist and a medical resident. I use painting as a mindfulness exercise to focus on what my hands can create while relinquishing some control. I love watching the colors flow together in unpredictable ways and I have a lot of fun experimenting with bright colors and new forms. You'll notice two themes in my work -- the familiar botanicals I've been painting for a decade and the brightly colored nudes I started at a friend's request and haven't stopped painting since. I hope you find them as fun and empowering as I do! Accepting: Venmo, Cash, Credit Card

Kael Jensen
Maker, Baker, and Lover of Natural Things
I'm Kael. You may know me as the owner, Health Coach, and Massage Therapist of Braided Earth Healing Arts, but I am also a keen observer and admirer of nature, textiles, and the human form. That is why you'll see a blend of many of these components in pieces I make. Whether it's playing with watercolor, acrylic, fabric, wood, moss, or lichen, I love collaborating with natural materials to express what words sometimes have trouble doing. I believe creative expression is vital to help us evolve in the precious life we were given. It also helps that there's loads of research that supports artistic methods like painting, listening to music, and sculpting help and heal us in many ways. To me, creative expression isn't just for fun (although it totally can be), it is also a means for emotional release, and helps me get out of my own mental stagnancy.
